The Trinity Christian Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Oak Glen Golden Bears at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Trinity Christian and Paden City had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Warriors blew past the Wildcats 21-5 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won five matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Noah Toler and Nathan Adams were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Toler pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Adams pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, Toler posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At bat, Toler scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Adams scored two runs while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.
In other batting news, Parker Hopkins was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brady Hutson, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Trinity Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .646. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Oak Glen got the win against Wellsville on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-3. The victory continues a trend for the Golden Bears in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won three in a row.
Ethan Wedgewood spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Christian Chappell and Cam Carter did most of the damage at the plate: Chappell went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Carter scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Lucas Zoellers also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Trinity Christian's record now sits at 5-2. As for Oak Glen, their record is now 3-4.
