The MacArthur Generals had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 45-30 win over Aldine on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for MacArthur, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Melanie Umanzor, who scored six points along with eight blocks and seven rebounds. Umanzor hasn't dropped below two blocks for nine straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Aniyah Bevly, who scored 14 points.
MacArthur's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Aldine, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 14 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season.
MacArthur's road trip will continue as they head out to face Nimitz at 10:30 a.m. on January 6th. Nimitz presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than MacArthur in Texas (Nimitz is ranked 175th, while MacArthur is ranked 912th). As for Aldine, they will be playing at home against Dekaney at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Dekaney has now lost 16 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 6.
