After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Mater Lakes Academy, the Hialeah Educational Academy Biggie were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-56 victory over Norland. The win was all the more spectacular given Hialeah Educational Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Norland is ranked 94th).
Hialeah Educational Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Levy out in front who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Reece Randolph, who scored 17 points.
Norland's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Marcus Allen, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 10 rebounds. Allen scored a full 32.1% of Norland's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lorenzo Major, who scored 13 points along with 5 assists.
The victory got Hialeah Educational Academy back to even at 2-2. As for Norland, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Hialeah Educational Academy is on the road again on Thursday and play against Southridge at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. As for Norland, they will take on Mater Lakes Academy at TBD on Saturday.
