The Salem Quakers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a tough 59-38 loss at the hands of East Liverpool. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Salem has scored all season.
It was another big night for Preston Kerr, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds for East Liverpool. Kerr has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Birch, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Salem bumped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for East Liverpool, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Salem will play host again and welcome Alliance, where tip off is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Alliance has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. East Liverpool on the road again on Tuesday and play against Beaver at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Beaver knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully East Liverpool likes a good challenge.
