The Knox County Eagles had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Fayette by a score of 59-52 on Thursday. That looming 59-52 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Knox County yet this season.
Fayette lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carter Vroman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 21 rebounds. Vroman also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Kaleb Friebe was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six steals.
Even though they lost, Fayette smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 32 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Knox County's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-17. As for Fayette, their defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-19.
Knox County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-34 defeat vs. North Shelby on the 9th. Fayette has also already played their next game, a 71-60 victory against Marceline on the 9th.
