The Rowland Hall Winged Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They suffered a tough 46-21 defeat at the hands of Maeser Prep Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rowland Hall in their matchups with Maeser Prep Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Rowland Hall lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Quinn Orgain, who scored six points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Halle Peterson, who scored four points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maeser Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Octavia Mosher, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Autumn Dossey, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 17 rebounds.
Rowland Hall dropped their record down to 2-11 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.8 points per game. As for Maeser Prep Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-14.
Coincidentally, Rowland Hall and Maeser Prep Academy will both be playing Draper APA the next time they take the court. Maeser Prep Academy will head out to face Draper APA at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Rowland Hall will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
