Plainfield Central was the  2-1 winner over Morris when they last played one another  back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell just short of Morris by a score of  2-1 on Monday.

 Despite the  defeat, Plainfield Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Isabella Ricketts  had 12  digs and five  aces. Those five  aces set a new season-high mark for  Ricketts.  Joelyna Gomez also deserves some recognition as  she  posted her first  assist of the season.
 Morris' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Alyssa Jepson, who  had 11  digs and four  assists. That's the most assists  Jepson has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Emilee Doss, who  had seven  digs and two  aces.
Plainfield Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Morris, their win was  their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 7-3.
 Plainfield Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  match,  a  2-1  defeat against Sandburg on the 9th. As for Morris, they have also already played their next game,  a  2-0  victory against IC Catholic Prep on the 9th.
