It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Skyridge Falcons had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Pleasant Grove by a score of 37-30. The win made it back-to-back wins for Skyridge.
Skyridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jack Burke, who picked up 99 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Sheffield, who rushed for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Although Pleasant Grove took the loss, they still got scores from Makai Peterson, Matt Morris, and Shawn Cottle.
Skyridge's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Pleasant Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-3.
Skyridge will face off against American Fork at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. American Fork knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Skyridge likes a good challenge. Pleasant Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
