The Chambers Academy Rebels and the Sparta Academy Warriors squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Chambers Academy Rebels had to settle for second. They lost to the Warriors on the road by a decisive 49-34 margin. Chambers Academy's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Sparta Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamie Ellissa Deason, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Deason is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Johnson, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Chambers Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Sparta Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.
Chambers Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sparta Academy, they will take on Edgewood Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Edgewood Academy is coming into the game with four straight victories on the road, meaning Sparta Academy will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
