Brunswick scored a stunning upset when it knocked off South Hagerstown, 42-32. At the time, the Rebels were ranked 23rd in the state, while the Railroaders were 108th.
The biggest upset of the week belonged to South Hagerstown, who took down 23rd ranked South Hagerstown, 42-32.
North Hagerstown's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Nick Karlen threw for 130 and one touchdown and Tre Anderson had 104 yards receiving. On the ground Isaiah Keyes chipped in 162 yards. Reggie Moody helped North Hagerstown's passing attack out by catching one ball for 15 yards.
North Hagerstown's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Hubs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Karlen has thrown for 882 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Anderson has 22 catches for 474 yards. Keyes leads the league in rushing with 931 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place South Hagerstown takes on second place North Hagerstown. Last week, Toby Peer's team lost to Brunswick, while the Hubs bested Boonsboro.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when North Hagerstown takes on the Rebels. Danny Cunningham's team's offense has scored 380 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while South Hagerstown has allowed only 93 on the year.
The Hubs' Keyes needs only 69 yards against the Rebels next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
Karlen and Anderson provided fans with a highlight when they connected against the Warriors. The connection was good for 80 yards, the longest such play in Monocacy Valley - Antietam this season.
