Basketball Game Preview: Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri Crusaders vs. St. Vincent de Paul Academy Hawks

Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri has gone a perfect 3-0 against St. Vincent de Paul Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Crusaders will head out on the road to square off against the Hawks at 5:45 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

On Thursday, Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri took their matchup with ease, bagging a 61-31 victory over Whitefield Academy. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, St. Vincent de Paul Academy hadn't done well against Independence Home School recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Hawks blew past the Lions 49-16. While the Hawks didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-10), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy found their leader in sophomore Leo Hodal, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Hodal is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Henry Spencer was another key player, putting up nine points.

Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for St. Vincent de Paul Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri beat St. Vincent de Paul Academy 70-60 in their previous matchup back in February. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Hawks' George Spencer, who had 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
