Sandy Creek (Tyrone, Ga.) as it put 12 more points on the scoreboard to secure its victory over Chestatee (Gainesville, Ga.) 54-7.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, the Patriots led 35-7 at the half.
Sandy Creek expanded its lead to 35 points entering the fourth quarter. SC scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run.
With the win the Tyrone school extended its winning streak to 11 games.
Chestatee's lone touchdown came on a run in the second quarter.
The War Eagles came in giving up 13.5 points per game this season. Chestatee had a hard time against Sandy Creek's offense, who entered the game scoring 43.4 points per game. Led by
Ronnie Blackmon, Sandy Creek had given up an average of 17.5 points prior to the contest.
The defeat comes as a step back for Chestatee, which notched a 41-13 victory over Grady in its previous outing. The loss ended Chestatee's two-game winning streak.
The Gainesville school (9-3) faces off against Sandy Creek in a playoff game its next time out. The Patriots enter the contest having posted a 10-0.
