The Panther Valley Panthers''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Tamaqua at home and fell 35-7. Panther Valley has struggled against Tamaqua recently, as their contest on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tamaqua to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Kane, who threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns while completing 88.9% of his passes. Damon Sell was another key contributor, picking up 104 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Panther Valley's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-8. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 11.8 points per game. As for Tamaqua, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Panther Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tamaqua will head out on the road to face off against North Schuylkill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Schuylkill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tamaqua in Pennsylvania (North Schuylkill is ranked 136th, while Tamaqua is ranked 319th).
