On Saturday, the Plainfield South Cougars rang in the new year with a 59-49 win over the Central Rockets.
Leading Plainfield South to victory were Layla Lesure and La'Niya Willis. The team also got some help courtesy of Fathia Olagunju, who posted four points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
