If the Greendale Panthers were feeling good off their 69-31 takedown of the West Allis Central Bulldogs last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Greendale took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Waterford on Wednesday. Greendale lost against Waterford in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 60-56 score last time.
Despite the defeat, Greendale saw an underclassman step up: Peyton Yoder scored 20 points along with three steals. The match was Yoder's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tatiyana Edwards, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Greendale's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Waterford, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.
Greendale won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Milwaukee Lutheran on January 11th. Milwaukee Lutheran is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Waterford, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Westosha Central at 5:30 p.m. Westosha Central is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
