Oakland recap November 19, 2013
Skyline scaled the state rankings by moving to 690 from 743 this week, the biggest jump in Oakland. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of besting Oakland 14-7.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, McClymonds beat Oakland Tech 48-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Skyline's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Titans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Chris Pescador has thrown for 267 yards and 1 touchdown this season, while Armand Shyne has 13 catches for 255 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Skyline takes on Fremont. Edward Smith's team's offense has recorded 73 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while the Tigers have permitted only 143 on the year.
The Titans' Shyne needs only 32 yards against Fremont next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 173 carries Shyne has accumulated 968 yard this year.
An important game coming up in Oakland this week will be when Terry Hendrix Jr's team takes on Skyline. At the moment, the Tigers are in second, while the Titans are in fourth.
Skyline made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,830 from 10,386. The improvement was largely due to a 14-7 victory over the Wildcats last week.
