While it was all tied up 33-33 at halftime, the Priory Panthers were not quite the Menlo School Knights's equal in the second half on Tuesday. Priory took a 69-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Menlo School. While losing is never fun, Priory can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 640th, while Menlo School is ranked 271st).
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Balasz Nyikos, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Teddy Xanthopoulos, who scored 11 points.
Priory's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Menlo School, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Priory will be playing at home against Harker at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Menlo School, they will head out on the road to take on Pinewood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
