The Harpeth Indians will look to defend their home field  on Friday against the Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet Royals at 6:00  p.m. Harpeth is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 6.6  runs per game  this season.
 Last Monday, Harpeth beat Hickman County 6-1.
  Landen Perry and  Michael Matheson were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound,  Perry   kept things locked down with   no  earned run or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Meanwhile,  Matheson   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in six consecutive pitching appearances. At bat,  Perry  scored two  runs and  stole four bases while going 2-for-3, while  Matheson  scored two  runs and  stole three bases while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Hayden Penrod was  incredible,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight  loss. They wound up on the wrong side of a  rough 13-5 walloping at the hands of Lawson.
 Harpeth has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record  this season. As for Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.
 Everything went Harpeth's way against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet when the teams last played  back in March as Harpeth made off with  a  12-0 win. Will Harpeth repeat their success,  or does  Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
