There's no place like home for the Phillipsburg Stateliners, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They took down Union 72-56 on Saturday. With that victory, Phillipsburg brought their scoring average up to 60.5 points per game.
Andrew Martin was a one-man wrecking crew for Phillipsburg as he scored 37 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Matthew Scerbo Jr., who scored nine points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Phillipsburg's win was their third straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26 points. As for Union, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Phillipsburg will be home for the holidays to greet Hunterdon Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Union will be home for the holidays to greet Elizabeth at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Elizabeth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Saturday.
