LEAP Academy had lost five straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 6-24 to make it six. They lost 16-1 to The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers. That's two games in a row now that the Lancers have lost by exactly 15 runs.
LEAP Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sylvanna Tascon, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one run.
As for The Pilgrim Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-4. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won ten games by ten runs or more so far this season.
On The Pilgrim Academy's side, Moriah Parmer and Addison Brittin made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Parmer tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Brittin tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Parmer has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two hits in 11 consecutive appearances. At the plate, Parmer went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Brittin went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Damien Olive was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Katie Coverly was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
LEAP Academy has already played their next matchup, a 24-7 defeat against Lakewood on the 15th. As for The Pilgrim Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-2 victory against Veritas Christian Academy on the 19th.
