Chloe Stephenson was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out six batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Stephenson wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Peyton McComas, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. McComas is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.
Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Georgetown-Ridge Farm, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Georgetown-Ridge Farm's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Georgetown-Ridge Farm, though, as they've been averaging 9.7 hits. Given Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's sizable advantage in that area, the Buffaloes will need to find a way to close that gap.
