AAAA Region 3A recap October 1, 2013
Wayne County added to the longest winning streak in AAAA Region 3A this week by beating Academy of Richmond County, 49-17. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Yellow Jackets.
Statesboro took down Butler 44-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Liberty County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jordan Waters threw for 86 yards and Chris Helvie had 26 yards receiving. On the ground Trentice Williams contributed 82 yards.
The Panthers' dynamic duo of Waters and Helvie proved to be unstoppable against Hephzibah, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
South Effingham's Tyler Pullum and Taylor Donavan have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Pullum has thrown for 604 yards this season, while Donavan has 13 catches for 239 yards. Liberty County's Williams leads the league in rushing yards with 436.
Wayne County led the league in scoring this week by notching 49 points on the Musketeers.
