Liberty took a 63-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Washington. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Liberty in their matchups with Lake Washington: they've now lost nine in a row.
Despite the loss, Liberty still got an impressive performance from Ella Whitaker, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Whitaker has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Chelsea Irvine, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Liberty has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-7 record this season. As for Lake Washington, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Liberty will be playing at home against Mercer Island at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lake Washington, they will head out on the road to challenge Everett at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Everett will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Lake Washington is ranked sixth).
