The Hutchinson-Central Tech Engineers will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Chautauqua Lake Thunderbirds at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Hutchinson-Central Tech has not done well against Lewis J. Bennett recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. Hutchinson-Central Tech walked away with a 62-53 victory over Lewis J. Bennett. The win was just what Hutchinson-Central Tech needed coming off of a 99-29 loss in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Chautauqua Lake took care of business in their home opener on December 7th. They came out on top against Southwestern by a score of 51-40.
Chautauqua Lake found their leader in underclassman Nick Jacobson, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Nathan Henry, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Hutchinson-Central Tech now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Chautauqua Lake, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
