The Bishop Fenwick Falcons fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Archbishop McNicholas Rockets on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets. Bishop Fenwick just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Leading Archbishop McNicholas to victory were Charlie Clark and Andrew Ehlers. Clark scored 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Ehlers scored 30 points along with six rebounds. Clark continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mitchell Conrad, who scored five points along with seven rebounds.
Bishop Fenwick's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Archbishop McNicholas, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Fenwick will take on Wyoming at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wyoming presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bishop Fenwick in Ohio (Wyoming is ranked 31st, while Bishop Fenwick is ranked 98th). As for Archbishop McNicholas, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Archbishop Alter at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
