Basketball Recap: Andrews Skates Past Blue Ridge Early College with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Andrews). They claimed a resounding 70-27 victory over the Blue Ridge Early College Bobcats. With that win, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 51.8 points per game.

Andrews found their leader in freshman Knox Davis, who went 13 of 22 on her way to 33 points and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Davis has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dr?a Cutshaw, who went 5 of 8 on her way to 13 points and seven steals.

Andrews smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in ten consecutive games.

Blue Ridge Early College's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Kenney, who posted 15 points and eight steals. That was a full 55.6% of Blue Ridge Early College's points, marking the seventh time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of McKenzie Woods, who put up six points along with eight boards and three steals.

Andrews' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Blue Ridge Early College, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Andrews Wildcats take on the Franklin Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Andrews is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.8 points per game this season. As for Blue Ridge Early College, they will welcome Robbinsville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
