Baseball Recap: Calumet Christian Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

While Calumet Christian put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Heritage Christian. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Defenders. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.

Calumet Christian let Brendan Peterson and Kole Klein run wild. Peterson went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base, while Klein went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave Klein a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Piquion, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Calumet Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Calumet Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.8 runs over those games. As for Heritage Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Calumet Christian will face off against Christian Life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Heritage Christian, they will challenge La Lumiere at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
