Austin is 1-9 against Waltrip since March of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Austin Mustangs will head out on the road to square off against the Waltrip Rams at 7:45 p.m.
Austin has not won a game since January 13th, a trend which continued on Tuesday. They and Carnegie Vanguard finished up their match with a 2-2 draw. The result (or lack thereof) marked Austin's first draw of the season.
Meanwhile, Waltrip was the victim of a rough 6-2 loss at the hands of Sharpstown on Tuesday. Waltrip was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 5-0.
Austin's draw makes their record 1-5-1 on the season. As for Waltrip, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.
Austin suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Waltrip in their previous meeting back in January. Can Austin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
