Princeton extended their winning streak to three on Thursday, bumping them up to 12-6. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Goldsboro Cougars. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won nine games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Evan Pate made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Princeton let Cade Gurley and Riley Misenis run wild. Gurley went 1-for-4 with one home run, while Misenis went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one double. That's the most hits Misenis has posted since back in March. Andrew Allnutt was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Princeton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goldsboro only managed four.

As for Goldsboro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly seven runs.

On Goldsboro's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Max Locklear, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Princeton will take on James Kenan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Goldsboro, they will face off against American Leadership Academy-Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
