The Murray County Indians''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 42-14 loss at the hands of Fannin County. Murray County has struggled against Fannin County recently, as their match on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Lawson Sullivan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fannin County, rushing for 140 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 119 yards and a touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes. Sullivan is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played. Carson Callihan was in the mix too, providing Fannin County with two touchdowns.
Murray County's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 1-7. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Fannin County, Rockmart, and North Murray. As for Fannin County, their victory bumped their record up to 4-4.
Murray County will be playing in front of their home fans against Haralson County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fannin County, they will head out on the road to face off against Rockmart at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rockmart is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
