The Red Cloud Crusaders stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Douglas, posting a 73-38 victory on the road. Red Cloud's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Red Cloud found their leader in underclassman Ashlan Carlow-Blount, who scored 17 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Carlow-Blount is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jodene Hunter, who scored 17 points along with four steals.
Red Cloud's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points per game. As for Douglas, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Red Cloud will take on Lead-Deadwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Red Cloud is facing Lead-Deadwood at the right time seeing as Lead-Deadwood is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. As for Douglas, they will head out on the road to take on Rapid City Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rapid City Central's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
