The Grand Junction Tigers will take on the Palisade Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Palisade will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Grand Junction extended their winning streak to three on Friday. The Tigers put the hurt on Grand Junction Central with a sharp 7-1 win.
Kolton Music looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Clayton Scarbrough was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Kaleb David was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Palisade got themselves on the board against Montrose on Friday, but Montrose never followed suit. They blew past the Red Hawks 14-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 16, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Easton Embrey made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Embrey was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Palisade is 6-1 when Embrey posts two or more runs, but 5-6 otherwise.
In other pitching news, Christian Herrera looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Kian Kinslow and Hunter Howard did most of the damage at the plate: Kinslow got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while Howard went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ethan Bevan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.
Palisade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. They are 6-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Grand Junction pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Palisade, their victory bumped their record up to 11-7.
Grand Junction skirted past Palisade 5-4 when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
