After a string of three wins, the Tucker County Mountain Lions's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southern.
When it comes to explaining why Tucker County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Raven Matthews. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ericka Zirk, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Even though they lost, Tucker County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern only pulled down ten offensive rebounds.
It was another big night for Carly Wilt, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and two steals for Southern. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wilt has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Emelee Parks, who scored six points along with six assists and four steals.
