There's no place like home for the Macksville Mustangs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Sublette on Friday as Macksville made off with a 53-27 win. Given Macksville's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Sublette is ranked 279th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Macksville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kambry Adams out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Adams has scored at least 25% of Macksville's points. Another player making a difference was Laney Butler, who scored 19 points along with nine rebounds.
Sublette lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Lilli Moke, who scored nine points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Moke has scored all season.
Even though they lost, Sublette were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Macksville only pulled down 26 offensive rebounds.
Macksville now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Sublette, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Macksville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Gray on December 9th. Sublette won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Spearville at 3:00 p.m. on December 9th.
