North Miami is 2-7 against Oak Hill since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The North Miami Warriors will head out on the road to challenge the Oak Hill Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. North Miami will be strutting in after a victory while Oak Hill will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Saturday, North Miami beat North Judson-San Pierre 60-50. The win made it back-to-back wins for North Miami.
North Miami's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Laney Musall, who scored 25 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Musall has scored at least a third of North Miami's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaiden Hanley, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Oak Hill ended up a good deal behind Eastbrook on Saturday and lost 48-33. While losing is never fun, Oak Hill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 154th, while Eastbrook is ranked 43rd).
Oak Hill's defeat came about despite a quality game from Liz Godfrey, who scored 16 points. Godfrey continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Morgan Cates was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight rebounds.
North Miami's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Oak Hill, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Tuesday's matchup is shaping up to be a masterclass in shooting: North Miami have been dynamite from deep this season, having made 39.6% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Oak Hill, though, as they've only made 34.5% of their threes per game this season. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
North Miami beat Oak Hill 72-65 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Miami since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
