The Pueblo County Hornets won the last time they faced the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs, and things went their way  on Wednesday too. Pueblo County strolled past Pueblo Centennial with  points to spare, taking the game  62-48.
 Pueblo County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Johnathan Gonzales, who  scored 18 points along with six  rebounds and four  steals.  Dominic Mauro was another key contributor,  scoring 11 points along with six  rebounds.
 Pueblo Centennial's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Shon West, who  scored 13 points along with six  rebounds and two  blocks. Another player making a difference was  Jeffrey Valdez, who  scored 14 points along with five  rebounds.
 Pueblo Centennial  struggled to work together and  finished the game with only four  assists. That's the fewest  assists they've managed all season.
 Pueblo County's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Pueblo Centennial, they bumped their record down to 6-6 with that  defeat, which was their third straight  on the road.
 Pueblo County's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Pueblo Central at 7:30  p.m.  on January 19th. Pueblo Central knows how to get  points on the board -- the  squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Pueblo County likes a good challenge. As for Pueblo Centennial, they will head out on the road to  take on  Pueblo South at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Pueblo South is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.3  points per game.
