Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Cottondale Hornets, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by the Tigers 57-17 on Monday. Cottondale has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their match on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Blountstown was led to victory by Cyianna Smith and Jill Davis. Smith scored 15 points, while Davis scored 16 points. Davis is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalynn Copeland, who scored nine points.
Cottondale's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Blountstown, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-1.
Cottondale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Blountstown will take on the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams have allowed few points on average, (Liberty County: 23, the Tigers: 29.8) so any points scored will be well earned.
