Canyon Lake moved up to 540 from 641 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region IV District 27. Canyon Lake was able to move up by defeating Wimberley 28-13.
Fredericksburg extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Navarro, 31-29. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Luke Baird threw for 275 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 21-41 with 2 interceptions.
Alex Willoughby-Gonzales was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 181 yards on 22 carries as Bandera defeated the Panthers. Landon Ventura also contributed to the rushing game with 112 yards on the ground.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Hunter Lees. The Boerne star has 42 catches for 663 yards.
Navarro's Luke Jarosewski is a mere 67 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Jarosewski has rushed for 933 yards on 125 carries so far this year.
One of 3A Region IV District 27's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Texans and Lance Moffett's team face off next week. Colton Cerday has thrown for 1,430 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Clayton Braden has terrorized opposing QBs to the tune of 4.0 sacks.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bandera takes on Les Goad's team. David T Sine's team is in fourth place, while the Panthers are in first place.
The Billies and Navarro played the closest game in the league this week, with the Billies eventually emerging with a 31-29 victory. Kyle Grona threw for 195 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 91 yards in the win.
