Lead-Deadwood will be playing at home against Red Cloud at on Thursday. Lead-Deadwood have seen their point totals decreasing over the past four games, a vulnerability Red Cloud are surely hoping to exploit.
After a string of five wins, Lead-Deadwood's good fortune finally ran out last Friday. They fell to Custer 13-26. Lead-Deadwood's loss came about despite a quality game from junior Jordy Stulken, who caught passes for 93 yards and picked up 43 yards on the ground. Stulken has now scored at least one touchdown in the past six games.
Meanwhile, Red Cloud put the finishing touches on their 3rd blowout victory of the season. They took the contest and then some with a 69-24 victory over Little Wound. Red Cloud were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Red Cloud's win lifted them to 6-2 while Lead-Deadwood's defeat dropped them down to 6-2. We'll find out if Red Cloud can add another positive mark to their record or if Lead-Deadwood can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Red Cloud's step.
