Gateway got themselves on the board against Lehigh on Thursday, but Lehigh never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Lehigh Lightning with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by six runs or more this season.

Lehigh's batters probably weren't too happy with Hunter Squire, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 16 Ks (he gave up two walks). Those 16 strikeouts gave Squire a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Devyn Vitiello, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Jadon Torres also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Gateway pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.5 hits in those games compared to only 5.2 in the others. As for Lehigh, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

After both having extra time off, Gateway and Cape Coral will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field one another at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. Lehigh will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Ida Baker at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th.
