West Florida Baptist Academy found their leader in underclassman Claire Jelsma, who scored 16 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Jelsma scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Stella Moore, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
West Florida Baptist Academy used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Santa Rosa Christian. Three players got more time on the court than they're used to: Vivian Woodring (nine), Jelsma (19), and Kara Boyd (11). The trio had averaged 2.8, 9.06, and 5.59 minutes respectively before Friday's contest. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Woodring scored four points, while she scored 16 points along with two steals.
West Florida Baptist Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season. As for Santa Rosa Christian, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
