Lamar Consolidated took care of business in their home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against the Fort Bend Willowridge Eagles by a score of 13-6. This was payback for the Mustangs, who suffered a 48-21 loss the last time these two teams met.

A big part of Lamar Consolidated's win came down to the chemistry between Edgar Garcia and his top target Isaiah Cobbin. Garcia rushed for 53 yards and one touchdown while Cobbin picked up 76 receiving yards and one score. Those 53 rushing yards gave Garcia a new career-high.
