The Roosevelt Teddies won the last time they faced the Minneapolis South Tigers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Roosevelt enjoyed a cozy 39-23 victory over the Tigers. Given Roosevelt's advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while the Tigers are ranked 231st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Olivia Wren was her usual excellent self, scoring ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaida Walker, who scored nine points along with two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Roosevelt and bumps their season record up to 16-6. As for Minneapolis South, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will take on the Polars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Community will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Minneapolis South, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Millers at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Washburn is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
