Jerek Turlij made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over five innings pitched. Turlij was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to home runs, as he's now launched at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Alex Brown was excellent, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also put up a hit, which was his first of the season.
North East's record now sits at 5-0. As for Erie, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1.
