The Lawrence Tigers were the 71-65 winner over the Centreville Bulldogs when they last played one another back in March of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Lawrence had to suffer through a rough 69-41 loss at the hands of Centreville. While losing is never fun, Lawrence can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 639th, while Centreville is ranked 304th).
When it comes to explaining why Lawrence lost on Tuesday, one person who can't be blamed is Ben McCaw. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. The contest was McCaw's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Smith, who scored 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Lawrence and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Centreville, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Lawrence won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gobles at 7:00 p.m. on January 10th. As for Centreville, they will play host again and welcome Comstock, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
