Agoura's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mathis Simonet led the charge by scoring ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Jacob, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Newbury Park dropped their record down to 12-13 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Agoura, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Newbury Park will challenge Calabasas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Calabasas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Newbury Park in California (Calabasas is ranked 186th, while Newbury Park is ranked 533rd). As for Agoura, they will head out on the road to challenge Oaks Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
