The Thomas Jefferson Gryphons stacked a tenth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Cherryville 63-13 at home. The win was familiar territory for Thomas Jefferson who now have eight in a row.
Thomas Jefferson found their leader in underclassman Brooklyn Twitty, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Twitty hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Connor, who scored 11 points along with two steals.
Thomas Jefferson's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.2 points. As for Cherryville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Thomas Jefferson will head out on the road to square off against Bessemer City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bessemer City will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Thomas Jefferson surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cherryville, they will be playing at home against Shelby at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cherryville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 30 on Friday.
