Guerin Catholic found their leader in underclassman Gianna Morelli, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. Ava Bills was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Guerin Catholic pushed their record up to 3-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.7 points per game. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Guerin Catholic will square off against Covenant Christian at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Covenant Christian is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Beech Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Beech Grove focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
