The Murray Spartans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They blew past Stansbury 59-37. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Murray has posted yet this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Murray to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grace Taeoalii, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Taeoalii pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Auclaire, who scored 16 points along with three steals.
Stansbury lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Bryn leigh Jones, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brooke Jensen, who scored 14 points.
Stansbury struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Murray racked up 13 assists.
The win got Murray back to even at 6-6. As for Stansbury, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Murray will head out on the road to take on Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tooele focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday. As for Stansbury, they will be playing at home against Jordan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Jordan is ranked 87th, while Stansbury is ranked 109th).
