Marion County scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 72-9 win over Webster County at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-4.
Marion County got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sage Davis out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Davis pulled down eight or more rebounds. Valencia Alridge was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Schley County slipped by the Patriots 54-53 on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Schley County.
Marion County's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Schley County, their win bumped their record up to 13-10.
Marion County came up short against the Wildcats in their previous meeting back in January, falling 41-31. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Schley County's Payton Goodin, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
